My Favorite Pieces of Media!

Shows!
Over The Garden Wall
This was a recent watch! I speculated the whole way through too... I really did feel a silly flood of angsty memories from my childhood because of Wurt. It felt weird, being completely out of the loop of popular media when I was involved in everything else besides it for so long. I'm happy I know about this show now, I won't spoil it, but it's a good marathon-watch.
Gravity Falls
I grew up with this series, and it was one of my main inspirations of weirdness at the time. Mabel and Dipper felt like a representation of myself and my own sibling. We'd get into trouble, we'd believe the unbelievable, and some days it really did feel like the supernatural took over everything. It was nice, those days.
Bee and Puppycat
This show was big in my books back when it was on the 3DS video player. The original episodes, of course. A lot changed when it officially got released and streamed on what... Netflix? But it was really nice to see something from a bright period of my childhood come back to hold me now in my adulthood.
The Owl House
This show was one of the last shows I properly watched on my own from start to finish. Dana's creations really never cease to amaze me, and the entire world of the boiling isles is something I could keep delving into again and again. I'm really looking forwards to putting my thoughts on the novel being released soon!!
Games!
Stardew Valley
A game I love to return to. The unending amount of activity and possibility. There's never a bad memory behind this game... For something so simple, it brings me joy to play this game with the people I care about.
Vintage Story
This game filled the hole I was missing lately! I really enjoyed my childhood memories with minecraft, especially making roleplay stories and hanging out with friends. I lost a lot of that as I grew up, and the community I've made with Vintage Story has brought back a childhood joy of mine. Writing stories, roleplaying characters, and hanging out with people who enjoy a similar about of joyous fun like I do. Not to mention the game itself is wonderful, and I'm hoping to learn how to mod too! Make lovely bugs? literally?
Viva Pinata
This game was a major connection point for myself and my mother. We loved gardening/farming games that we'd play on our tablets, house computer, or with this- the xbox 360! We'd bond over the silly treat names of the animals, and do our best to get as far as we could in the game. I yearn to play this game again some day!
Pokemon X
While this wasn't the Pokemon game that got me into Pokemon, it was one of the longest-played pokemon games for me outside of the pokepark and pokemon rumble series. My favorite of the mainline games, so to say. I hold this game very dear, and all the memories I hold of it have always been very nice. I try to play once or twice even now, it's nice to walk down memory lane!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons
This was my first Animal Crossing game! Like a lot of people I know, it was a big comfort game during the pandemic. I don't play it as much as I did then, but I do hope to get back into it, perhaps even restart my island a third time!... no... no I'm just joking.
Little Big Planet
I was not in the golden eras of this game-- infact outside of a few chance instances, I only ever got to play the story modes with my boyfriend. I regret not having a chance to play this game and meet the wonderful communities that developed from it! But this game brought me so much joy even in the littlest aspects I got to enjoy it in, and my heart is fuller with the experience I got from it.
